Orion SDK Documentation

Right now the best available documentation for the group API is comments in the powershell sample: OrionSDK/Groups.ps1 at master · solarwinds/OrionSDK · GitHub . So I was mainly confused about the use of *args in the swis.invoke function, and other functions where the parameters don't appear to be documented.
In the examples I found this:

Yet in the function definition for invoke, I find this:



Which only contains two parameters, then an unspecified amount of unnamed parameters, which I could understand for member definitions, but for say "owner", "refresh frequency", I don't know exactly what they are. Does the example contain all possible parameters?
I gather entity being the type, and verb being some kind of instruction to create the object?

Think of "entity" like the name of a class and "verb" like the name of a static method on that class. There are many verbs you can through this interface. The exact set depends on what products you have installed. Our "all products" test server shows over 400. What you need to pass for *args depends on which verb you are calling. This sample shows the set for Orion.Container.CreateContainer.

Using SWQL Studio (or any other means of sending queries to SWIS), you can get the list of verbs in your instance with this query:

SELECT EntityName, Name FROM Metadata.Verb

You can query for the list of parameters a given verb expects with this query:

SELECT V.Arguments.Name, V.Arguments.Type FROM Metadata.Verb V WHERE V.EntityName='Orion.Container' AND V.Name='CreateContainer'
