SIP Montoring

I know that SIP is not currently supported in the VoIP & Network Quality Manager​. It is currently listed on the "what we are working on" page

What are we working on for VNQM (Updated September 14, 2017)

#3 in your list should be doable on the L3 side of your network using Cisco IP SLA Operations.

For #1 and #2, you might still be able to monitor aspects of SIP but it'll definitely be custom work. Either a SNMP OID or custom script to pull back the data.

Thanks for your information. Can you please let me know in detail as to how can I proceed with the monitoring for Trunk Utilization, Media Resources and Voice Quality?

I did something like this for my CUBEs. I created a Universal Device Poller using the cvCallVolConnTotalActiveConnections OID then divided that number by two as there is always the CUCM call leg and the ISTP call leg for each call. This gives you the total number of calls on your circuit and since you know how many channels you have you can calculate utilization. I've been using this method for about a year now.

I just now found this white paper https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/unified-communications/unified-border-element/white_paper_c11-613550.p…  which has an interesting section on "Real-Time Trunk Utilization" using the "callActiveTable" in the CUBE MIB. I'll be looking into it.

For media resources you'd have to monitor both the CUBE and the Call Manager, this is something I'm beginning to look at now as well. If I come up with anything useful I'll post on here about it.

We have VQNM and it automatically calculates a MOS (mean opinion score) score and Jitter using the CDRs from CUCM for on-net calls but there is no method of doing so for off-net calls. You just need to add the CUCM nodes to VQNM.
