Average Stastics for Performance Counter?

We have a SIEM application (LogRhythm) that we want to monitor some stats that are available in performance monitor. The stat is a current processing rate. To get a better current processing rate we use the "Average" option when adding counters in performance monitor. Is there any way for me to replicate this on the Solarwinds side to pull the average rather than current rate? I'm unsure how to modify the counter on windows but wanted to know if that was my only option.

Yep I realized this afterwards however I'd also like to alert on the average number. Is there anyway I can create an alert that will alert if the average is above/below a specific threshold (or baseline) ?

To my knowledge you can't alert off of an average if you aren't already polling the average value to begin with. You can take the current rate value and change it's thresholds to alert on baseline data, that might be the easiest way to do it.

The problem with this is that the value its currently pulling in is the amount of logs ingested by an application. This amount can go from 5k to 0 in seconds, since Orion's baseline only evaluates initially once the initial baseline is configured im afraid it will overfire due to the possiblity of 10k logs ingesting then 0 the next second.

That is also the reason i wanted to figure out a way to pull in the 'average' value of perfmon

Hey ajiwanand ,
Did you manage to find anything useful? I am actually looking at the same use case and it looks like I have to run a script to calculate the average for orion to display, which is less then ideal... Thanks
