Use the Universal Device Poller (UDP), you will need to log into your Orion server via remote desktop.
Create a Universal Device Poller and report on Cisco serial numbers - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support - provides a good working example, simply replace the Cisco serial number OID in the example, with the OID of choice.
The UDP uses the same credentials as Orion, so if the device is already being monitored with SNMPv3, then you poller will use the same.
Good luck and if you need a hand, just shout!
I need a commnad to execute a snmpV3 get. Assume my context names have to be read in from a file, so that They can change. I need to write a script that reads the context names from the file and builds the snmpV3 get on the fly.
Is this possible with solarwinds?
Before we get too deep into this, what are the OIDs you are looking at, as it is always worth checking that someone else hasn't done it already?
Failing that, I would be looking at PowerShell to wrap the snmpget/snmpwalk command to achieve what you are after.
The Oids are for a custom SNMP agent So I would have to hard code the Oids as well.
