Re: Why do I not have any Logs in Syslogs?

Are you forwarding any Syslogs from our devices to the Syslog Server? Syslog is a receive only component, so it listens for messages being generated by the configured devices within your infrastructure.

I am very new to Solarwinds. I have not set up any forwarding to my syslog server. How would I go about doing that? Do I first need to create traps?

It will vary based on the type of Node (Vendor) you have. You would enable and set the destination for Syslogs or SNMP traps to your Orion Poller/s. Once you have finished that, you should start to see them show up in the Syslog Viewer and Traps Viewers as applications on the Orion Server. You should also see this start to populate in the Orion web console under those specific areas.

How do I enable? I am currently working with a small lab that includes 1 cisco switch, 1 PC, and 1 Server 2016.
