In our NPM instance we have two "Nodes" that are monitoring the two ISP interfaces for the same device. In other words, our router has two ISP connections and I'm monitoring them both as separate nodes via ICMP.
The way the device is set up is so that the secondary connection is completely disabled until the primary goes down. Currently, NPM is working as intended by showing the secondary connection as down on the dashboard. However I would like be set up so that this node status shows as 'up' when it is actually down, then then when it comes up I would like it to display as down and send alerts out to the team. Pretty much the opposite of standard operation.
Is there a way to do this in NPM currently? or is there an alternative way to monitor these two connections that makes sense in my setup?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
