Hi, David...Welcome to the club!
So, one of the really cool features in Orion is the Universal Device Poller (UnDP). I can't say for certain if the MIBs are in Orion already, but you can use UnDP to build custom pollers to collect and display any information you want. There are tons of examples on Thwack of this very thing.
About a third of the way down the page is "Custom Monitors."
If you need help building these, let us know.
Thanks for your quick reply! I'll check that out.
How can one check to see which MIB's are already compiled in our system? And it is hard to compile a MIB within Orion NMS? With the free tool, it was relatively simple.
And if you are familiar - does Orion NMS provide a "sandbox" area for testing new devices?
Couple of tools you can use to scan/MIB Walk your devices.
If you have the Engineers Toolset there is the MIBWalk, it is an older tool and works well on simple devices. I prefer it in some cases.
With the MIBWalk you set the IP and Community String then let it scan the device.
Scan you devices and see what metrics you want to capture then setup the UnDP's for those specific OID's or Tables.
Once obtained you can graph, chart, or alert on the Values/Returns
