Getting to Orion Platform 2017.3

I looked around but couldn't find an answer to what I was looking for, we currently have the following NPM 12.1.0.0 with Orion Platform 2017.1.3 SP3.

If we upgrade to NPM 12.2.0.0 will that automatically upgrade the Orion Platform to 2017.3 or does something else have to happen?

Then we plane to upgrade our NTA from 4.2.2 to the version 4.2.3.
