Additional POLLER

Hi,

Anyone experience this issue? maybe I missed some step let me know if any thoughts.

I have added a new POLLER to the Orion and after moving some of the device from the old POLLER to the new, the managed device shown as down although is up. I moved multiple device to the new POLLER and the Orion show all device recently moved as down . After moving it back to the old POLLER it shows up.

are they monitored by snmp if so need to confirm the new poller is allowed to poll the device.

Yes the device are separated via Firewall. I setup the new Poller to the DMZ area. The idea is to monitor a separate segment

I've seen this exact behavior. It was caused by firewall rules allowing traffic from the first poller's IP address, but not from the second poller's address.
Actually, I see this about four or five times a year, as people assume ALL pollers are allowed through all firewalls.
Put in the IP address of the second poller in the firewall where it allowed the first poller's address, and the problem may be resolved.

I have seen this behavior when internal communications between Primary and additional poller were blocked. IN my case it was with a Windows firewall. For some reason we had both 17777 and 17778 traffic between servers that were in the same subnet layer 2 adjacent.

17777 was expected, but 17778 was not.
