How to get started with Solarwinds products?

Hi There,

I am from Network Monitoring background and never had an opportunity to deal with Solarwinds products. But time has come now.

I have good knowledge and work experience on Nagios, Zabbix & CA Nimsoft tools.

Please suggest the best zero to Hero way to get started with Solarwinds ds training.

What product to learn first and next to it and after it?

I would first start out by downloading and installing NPM. With a network monitoring background it will be very intuitive. NCM, NTA, and IPAM would be my follow on trial choices. From there you can decide what other trials you could utilize and keep building from that. Good luck!

Pick a product like NPM as atuor suggested and you can find documentation and training info to help point you in the right direction. We put a ton of good info in videos so that our users are not reading endless admin guides. I would agree that NCM and NTA should be the next areas of focus.

I second the Success Center. There's so much good information in there.
Also take a look at the up coming events. The Solarwinds Academy events are great for getting off the starting line.

My environment :
Windows 10 Host OS
VMware workstation
NPM - Evolution version
I would like to set up NPM in a VM.
Do I need to configure another VM with Sql server installed?
Suggestions or recommendations please...

Yes, success center is a great starting point see below also it is recommended to have SQL on a separate server.
