Percent Loss vs Availability of Network Interface

Hi,

We frequently receive a node down status for a specific node.

When I try to use the perfstack analysis, there is a percent loss (blue) for about 4 minutes while the network interface availability is 100 percent. Please see attached file for the diagram.

Can anyone help why there is a percent loss but the availability of the network interface is 100% available.

Thanks!

  • Maybe if you show by the hour, you'll understand better. I think that really at that moment was off, but there it is summarized.

Can you see if the traffic passing through this port is configured to be the real or the default? In Orion you can configure it to calculate the exact trafigo of the bandwidth that passes on a certain port in interface properties when selecting in the list resource.

  • Also note that interface and node statistics are not collected simultaneously, so it's possible that there was an issue at the time when the node was polled which rectified itself when the interface statistics collection job kicked off a couple minutes later.
