Re: NPM alerts
backupaccess Apr 24, 2017 9:03 AM (in response to bstykemain)Hey Friend, When you set up your alerts are you familiar with setting up SMS alerting? This will allow you to recieve SMS text alerts to whatever number(s) you choose.
A user requested this previously: Re: Orion Alerts to SMS
This may be of some help for your needs.

Re: NPM alerts
bstykemain Apr 24, 2017 9:19 AM (in response to backupaccess)Thanks backupaccess,
I do like the SMS even though we haven't used it. I don't think that we will implement this anytime in the near future though, unfortunately. We are currently using Whatsup Gold for the monitoring( in process of evaluating NPM), What we would like to do is have the email set up like the following;
Server is Up/Down at least 5 min on Windows 2008 Server: server.lc.local (IP).
Details:
Monitors that are down include:
Monitors that are up include: Ping,
HTTP,
SNMP,
Interface(10) ethernet_6,
Dell Server Global System Status = Normal

cjfranca Apr 24, 2017 9:32 AM (in response to bstykemain)If you need only receive email you need see the configurations out your
server in firewall.
But, if you need acsses the Orion server out off office you need to public
the ip address orion server. If you can't to public, you can to user DUC
software client no ip.

If you are currently evaluating NPM, my suggestion would be to contact your Account Manager and ask to work with a SE. The SE team could assist you in resolving technical hurdles to ensure the product is a good fit. It would be much easier to walk you through the workflow on a call. What you mentioned above should be easily created.
Also if you are interested in Server Monitoring I would highly suggest looking at Server & Application Performance Monitor
