Patch Manager 2.1.3 with SQL Server 2016 and Windows Server 2016

Has anybody successfully got Patch Manager 2.1.3 to work with SQL Server 2016 and Windows Server 2016? I know it is not on the compatibility matrix, but it is the last app that is stopping us from fully migrating to the newer SQL and OS. Yes I have a support ticket in but I was hoping somebody found some work around. Even our NCM is working fine with both 2016's. I just get the below error and can't start the service. I have tried downgrading to Server 2012 R2 but have the same issue now that we are using SQL 2016. My next step is to use embedded SQL express just to see what happens.

Using express install did work, got the below error but manually added to the ring.
Seems to be working fine local so it has to be a conflict with SQL Server 2016 and not with Windows Server 2016.

Hi rfiscus@cpsenergy.com, unfortunately it's not something I have seen working in 2.1.3. Even if it does finally install the API versions for WSUS are different, so publishing updates will fail.

That is not correct, I currently have it working with Windows Server 2016 and SQL Server Express that comes with 2.1.3 (2014 I believe). So it seems like it is just incompatible with SQL 2016. I have successfully published and installed several packages, I just had to re-create the self-signing certificate and re-distribute it and then re-publish the packages with the new signing certificate..

Yes I have it installed on server 2016 connected to a seperate 2016 full SQL server as well

Yes - SQL Server 2016 is also supported in v2.1.4
The download should be included in your Customer Portal. If not, let me know.

Jut FYI, according to support:

Update for Case #XXXXXXX - "gePATCH: After upgrading to SQL Server 2016, can't start Data Grid Service Error 1064"

It is not yet announced that it is supported. It is however working in this version according to development.

So does the new 2.1.4 support SQL 2016, I only see the release notes mentioning Windows Server 2016?

Yes - both Server 2016 & SQL 2016 are supported by Patch Manager v.2.1.4
If you are still experiencing issues after you upgrade to the latest version of Patch Manager, please re-open your support case & let me know.
