The last part is creating the rule in syslog viewer.
Launch the "Syslog Viewer" application from your Orion server
Go to View > Alert/Filter Rules ...
Select the rule named "NCM Rule: Cisco IOS Realtime Change Notifications" and click copy
Rename the rule whatever you would. I chose to name mine "NCM Rule: Cisco ASA Realtime Change Notifications"
Click the "Messages" tab and edit the "Syslog Message Pattern". I chose to use *end configuration: OK* which monitors for the syslog message indicating the user has exited configure terminal. You could use a different syslog message to work differently, but I find this to be the best option.
Save your changes and test!
You may need to enter and exit configure terminal a few times to get NCM to download the current running config for comparison, but it should work.
Let me know how that works out for you.
Currently, I'm trying to configure all my switches for Real Time Configuration I would like to know what is the config that you use on your switches
So far I have this but it's not working for me
logging host ORN_Server
logging facility local4
snmp-server host ORN_Server public config
snmp-server enable traps config
Thanks in advanced.
Those last two lines are all that I needed in my IOS switches to get it working with the latest NCM using SNMP Traps. I found the following to be pretty helpful:
