I have never worked with Solar Winds to add servers. I am trying to add aserver through the Manage Nodes and it says Test Failed. I ping the server and it is there. What am I doing wrong or missing?

Is it Windows or Linux?

If Windows, you need admin rights to the server to get WMI

If Linux, you need to ensure SNMP is configured properly.

The initial "test" when adding a node is to ensure either your SNMP settings are correct, or your WMI user is correct; depending on the polling type you selected. If you are using SNMP (no longer recommended for Windows), then please make sure your SNMP community strings are correct. If you are using WMI (this is preferred for all Windows systems), then make sure you have a username and password configured to pull the WMI data from your server. You need to configure a "WMI" user on the server and in Orion. You can use the "admin" account on the server, but there are security dangers when do that, so I'd strongly recommend creating a new user for just "WMI" polling and use that same user on all systems.
