reporting of FQDN over IP

we have PSECURITY alerts enabled and they send to our ticketing system, however when i get the information it has the IP address of the Switch and it would be much easier to connect if i had the Name of the switch instead of the IP. is there a way to do that?

Do you have DNS entries for all of the switches so LEM can resolve the IPs to names? Do the switches send their names in their syslog? If you've answered no twice, how would LEM know the name of the switches

under All events, Search for your event.. First Identify which field is having the name in the Event Details.
Next go to Build > Rules and edit the rule that is sending the email message.
Find which Email template its assigned
Go to the relevant email template
Then edit the appropriate template which you have noted in above step
Add the fileld in the email template which is having the node name.
Also add event info and extraneous info in the email template.

i thought of that but when i look a the original event i only find the IP Address.

yes there are DNS entries for all switches. According to Cisco the Syslog message does contain the hostname.

System log messages can contain up to 80 characters and a percent sign (%), which follows the optional sequence number or time-stamp information, if configured. Messages appear in this format:
seq no:timestamp: %facility-severity-MNEMONIC:description (hostname-n)
