How do I create an Alert for Virtual Memory % Used for a node?

Hi guys. I'm new to SolarWinds. I'm trying to create an alert to monitor Virtual Memory % Used for a node. When I search for fields under nodes in the Available Fields search when creating an alert, I only see Free Virtual Memory and Total memory. Is there a way to get Virtual Memory % Used for a node so it can be alerted?

Also do you know if the Free Virtual Memory and Total memory are in bytes or kilobytes?

  • I am fairly new as well however if you were to create an alert that was when the node was over a certain % used it would alert. Most would say not to use this kind of alert however the other alternative means that you would need to use a custom alert that requires understanding and studying the Orion coding process.

From another thread I found a built in Alert that came with Solarwinds "High Virtual Memory Utilization with top 10 Processes'  I made a copy of that and tweaked it to my needs.
