Alert when an interface on a particular node goes down

yes. I want to alert on interface, select instance under the select field. Select objects and filter by node. You need to create a brand new alert.

However, I have tried, without success..  I wonder if the logic behind that statement infers that all of the selected node's interfaces would need to be down rather than any of them? 

Surely the "interface instance" should be "contains" and not "is" the 442 objects I have selected.

When you get the selection process and see the nodes, you need to expand the arrow at the side of the nodes to select the actual interfaces you want. Dont select the node.
