I'm new to PM (just purchased a couple weeks ago) and I am reading through the documentation. In the administration documentation, there is something called a "publishing environment" that is referred to several times. Here are a couple excerpts:
- PM extends WSUS functionality allowing you to run reports about the updates and assets in your "publishing environment".
- Patch Manager (PM) is composed of several components (PM Server, SQL Server, Admin Console, Web Console) that integrate with the WSUS server in your "publishing environment".
What is meant by this term "publishing environment"? Is that a specific PM term? or is that a broader term that represents all the machines you intend to publish updates to?
