Re: Making changes to Solarwinds database
john.ta Jun 2, 2016 8:32 AM (in response to dsweir)I don't see any reason it wouldn't work. A word of advice, however...don't update former employees e-mail address with your own. Replace it with one of a mailing list i.e. solarwindsalerts@company.com and that way you'll never have to do this again.

dsweir Jun 2, 2016 8:46 AM (in response to john.ta)Thanks John. I didn't think it would be a problem, just wanted to verify before I pulled the trigger. As I sent my initial question, I forgot that syslog alerts/rules can be exported, but only one at a time and not all at once.

john.ta Jun 2, 2016 8:47 AM (in response to dsweir)To be safe, have them do it to one alert and verify before making change globally

1 of 1 people found this helpfulChange your alerts to reference a custom property and place the email address there...then you have 1 place or fewer places to have to update and not having to re-touch every alert rule.
