I am tasked with providing uptime metrics for network equipment/links/services in our operational portfolio on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis for reporting that goes to the senior management team and onto the board.
These metrics are taken from various fixed interfaces, devices, etc and calculated as an uptime percentage. The problem lies in where some of this downtime has occurred during normal maintenance windows for upgrade purposes, and it just so happens that there have been a number of those maintenance windows in the past couple of months that make calculation by hand cumbersome and ripe for error.
My question is: Is there a way to input scheduled maintenance windows into NPM so that uptime percentage is only calculated against real outages and not maintenance windows as well?
Eagerly awaiting the answer on this one...
