Hi all.
I am trying to build a report to obtain the ESX Host details to sown the product version of software running on it.
I am currently polling the esx devices and I can see the product version, product name, memory and the number of VM's running but cant fugure out how to run a report to get any of these details.
Any guru's out there know how to do this?
SQL querie maybe?

Sorry, I should have been more specific. That's a SWQL (SolarWinds Query Language) query. You can use it in reports, custom query resources, and advanced alert trigger/reset conditions. So in your case you'll want to create a Custom Table report of type SWQL and paste that query in.

That's one of the nice things about SWQL - most of the entities (i.e., Orion.VIM.Hosts) also come with "linking" properties that can be used to reach into neighboring entities for their related information.
SELECT v.HostID, v.HostName, v.Node.IPAddress, v.VMwareProductName, v.VMwareProductVersion
FROM Orion.VIM.Hosts v
In this case the linking property is called 'Node' and connects us to the 'Orion.Nodes' entity where I can find the IPAddress (along with all the other information about the node). To make it easier to use the entity.linkingproperty.value notation I alias the Orion.VIM.Hosts entity as 'v' and prefix all the properties from that entity with that. Then I can reference v.Node.IPAddress which gets me the information you're looking for.
