In my Military days, I have supported both Network and System setup from 0 to functional. Some locations include Fort Hood, Germany, Kosovo, & Iraq. Over the 6+ years, I was deployed twice, one in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2005-2006 in Kosovo as a Help Desk and Network Admin, and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008-2009 to work as Network Operations and Computer Support Manager and Trainer. Solarwinds incidentally became a core aspect in my IT go bag for when I have to jump next day to another network. Experience with IT falls all over the OSI model. I am the tech that loves to run Layer 1 all day, playing with the layer 2, mastering 3, so that 4-7 is handed off as my other hobby. We may break some headers, play multiple sessions, but I just love to SYN/ACK the night away.
