ipMonitor - can it be used for monitoring availability & traffic on physical interfaces for Cisco routers?

Hi everybody,

I need to know if ipMonitor is more than enough for monitoring Cisco Router's availability, along with monitoring the traffic on the physical interfaces. I've looked over the quick reference guide of the application, but I haven't found something related to this.

For anyone who's using ipMonitor, could you give me some more info abot it?

Thanks,

Cosmin

  • Hello Cosmin,

ipMonitor's Ping Monitor can be used to monitor the Router's availability.

In order to monitor the traffic on each interface, simply use the Bandwidth Monitor.  The only requirement for this Monitor to work is that the SNMP agent on your Cisco Router be configured, running and accepting SNMP queries from the ipMonitor host.

Let me know if you have any additional questions regarding this.

    Sincerely,
