Morning Report on Down Monitors

Does anyone know of a way to create a report that would only show down monitors?

I would like to create a report that goes out every morning to our techs that just shows the monitors that are down.  This would keep them from having to login to ipMonitor to see the down monitors.  Also this would allow them to get the report on their smartphone thru email and potentially start resolving issues before coming into work.

  • Hi Tsommoore,

You should be able to do this using a 3-step process.

    1.  Create a SmartGroup to display Monitors with a status of Down.

    2. Create a report based on the SmartGroup.

    3. Create a Report Publisher to email/save the report every morning.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • How would I get the following layout inside the report:

The top of the table I want the device name and inside the table I want to show only the down monitors.

So I wan the report to show the name of the device then under that only the down monitors for that device.

    Thanks for your help

  • Tsommoore,

At this time there is no way to do this because the Device Name is not stored within the XML of the Monitors.  The best you could do is add a column to the Data Table that would pull the Parent ID, however, this will only give you the internal ID of the Device the Monitor belongs to.
