IPMonitor 9 help please - service monitoring and others

Hi there,

I recently purchased IPmonitor and have a few techie questions please.

I've a service that stops by design during certain times through the night, is there a way to either stop monitoring this service during specific times, or have it tell me if it DOSEN'T stop between certain times?

Also, I have backup servers that backup remote servers and I'm getting lots of email alerts due to NIC saturation, is there a way to stop monitoring NIC bandwidth between certain times aswell please?

There wil no doubt be more questions coming up, thanks in advance for any help.

I think what you are looking for is scheduled maintenance. You can use scheduled maintenance to suspend monitoring on specific monitors. See Configuration tab > Scheduled Maintenance Tasks.

Thanks - looks just like what I need.

Is it possible though to monitor a service incase it starts? e.g. I want to make sure that a specific service doesn;t start during a certain time frame, and if it does be notified by email. May sound a bit off the cuff but would be really useful.

You would have to keep the monitor running (i.e. don't put it in maintenance mode). Then, create an Alert, specify email as an Alert Action, and leverage Availability setting to configure the Alert to be active or disabled for different periods of the day. Finally, unselect notifications on failure and select only the recovery notifications to be notified when it comes up.
