Editing stats AFTER maintenance

Hi,

I there any way i can edit the statistics for a monitor after it has occurred?

I know i can disable the monitor in advance - but then i don't know exactly for how long the maintenance window will last..

/Kresten

  • Hello Kresten,

As ipMonitor's reports are used for SLA reporting, there is no way to edit the statistics.

  • Hi,

Thx for the answer - but how do I handle a service windows that maybe only took 2 out of the reserved 3 hours?

Having my monitors turned off for the last hour also seems to be wrong and give misleading results.

  • A system that would allow us to report on planned vs. unplanned downtime would be excellent.  For example, IPMonitor would always maintain stats for actual availability - this could not be edited.  However, it could also maintain a table of "acceptable" outage timeframes that could be considered during the reporting process, where actual downtime would be exempted from being reported during a "planned downtime" report.

Perhaps this functionality is more geared towards Orion, but since we use both, I personally don't have an opinion on where it would live, just that it would be available to me.  :-)

  • I second this idea. I've just had to create several duplicate monitors and create complicated maintenance schedules just to be able to report unacceptible outages that occur only during business hours.
