Customizable Company Business Calendar

Although many business have a Mon-Fri work week, the observed holiday/days closed schedule can vary greatly-- i.e., some observe Veterans'/Presidents' Day and others do not. Our research/academic facility has a 6 day Winter Break each December. Currently, Web Help Desk only recognizes a global work week schedule without one-off exceptions. A simple calendar exception feature would be crucial in successfully complying with an SLA, pausing the clock ticking towards Ticket completion time when observing holidays.

100% agree.  We are an emergency service and some of services are 24/7/365 WHD's current calendar / SLA makes no cognoscente of this.  Not everyone works Mon - Fri 9 - 5.

We could definitely use this feature.

This was actually one of the few reasons we could not pursue WHD as a viable solution for our business. As a government entity, that has both civil and public safety departments, we have to be able to customize and prioritize differently than a "normal" corporation would.

This is a feature my department admin thinks is critical, as he doesn't want all our tickets to be past due just because the entire school district including us had a week of vacation. We have even been looking into switching help desk solutions because of the lack of this one feature.

This would be a very useful feature to add. Each year, between Christmas and New Year, our company has a shutdown. During that time the ticket due date should take into account this shutdown period at that time and the due date adjusted accordingly.

I echo the need for this.  My group currently uses WHD to support our department in the University.  8:30 - 4:30 M-F type thing.  When we have vacation days, or snow days, I go in and change the calendar to times in the past, and uncheck dates.  But that is a pain.

We are about to roll out to a Student Support unit, and their business hours are M - Th, 8:30AM - 10PM, Friday 8:30 - 4:30, Saturday 9 - 5, and Sunday 2 - 10. I cannot do anything sensible with that the way WHD is currently structured.  I may experiment with a database script that will run at predefined times to modify the hours (Thursday night, Saturday, and Sunday night).  If anyone is interested, get in touch.

Something like this would be very helpful in our organization as well.

Does any one know if this is even being addressed? as a ticket management system I would expect this to be part of the basic features??
