WHY is WHD SO SLOW?

Jump to solution

I have 5 techs using WHD and no users yet

We are using 23 % of our JVM memory and only have 600 tickets in the system ( we jsut started using it). saving takes 45 sec or longer to save.

Any tricks to speed it up or things to look at?

So Far changing the threshold seems to have made the biggest difference.

Is the WHD server having any bottleneck when the tech is trying to save the ticket ?

Could you please view resource monitor (on WHD server) and check if CPU/ memory/disk are experiencing any bottleneck.

Worth a look here on previous posts for some suggestions:

Re: How can I get my HelpDesk to run/update faster?

Most likely suggestions would be either a bottleneck with contacting the mail server, a bottleneck writing to the database or (unlikely if the JVM memory usage is low) Java memory problems/ heavy RAM usage.

Depends on the setup but from personal experience setting the Scheduled E-Mail Delivery Threshold in Setup> Email> Options to 0 and introducing a scheduled task to restart WHD every night worked wonders for us (we're using the built in DB on the same server as WHD is running).

Changing the email delivery threshold will make a huge difference in performance.
