Credential Library for WPM!

We use one common ID and Password for all of our WPM tests. (approx. 100) Every 90 days when we are forced to update our password we have to open and edit every single WPM test. This is REALLY time consuming! Please create a “credential library” like ones found in the other Solarwinds tools (example: SAM) that we could use to house and retrieve credentials for WPM so we would only have to update one location for password changes.

  • 2023 Now. Still no Credential Library for WPM. And Still no connector for Cyberark. I am now being asked to investigate other monitoring tools that are keeping up to date with security standards by using credential vaults. 

  • The credential library for WPM would be great!!In addition to that, can we add the ability to change the passwords via the API, so we can fully automate the process.

  • Update, we're now in 2021, and I have never received any indication from account reps, or tech support that this is ever going to happen. We now have around 240 WPM tests, and every 90 days my team has to shut down production for hours to update passwords in all of the scripts. It is horrible. We have to shut down WPM Playback, open each script one at a time, find the location of the password (whether is is stored in the little key icon in WPM 3, a single credentials entry in WPM 2, or explicitly typed out in either) edit that entry, make sure there are no other entries, save the script, let it play back and then move on to the next.

    Then, we found out a couple times ago that every time we did this the save wiped out our custom thresholds that we had saved for these recordings. And If you know that the "calculated" thresholds are not good. They are so short that they cause almost all of the tests to go critical right away. So now we have a standard threshold, and we do a database update on anything below that threshold and change them in bulk. Ugh! This process really sucks. I had really high hopes for WPM 3, but it did nothing to fix our my request for a credential vault. And it has its own issues with compatibility. Not good Solarwinds. I hate using this product. We also have a limited deployment of other products that handle synthetics much better.

    Absolutely! Would love to see a CyberArk integration! Solarwinds is falling behind on this one.

  • I am also interested in a credential library for WPM.  Is this on the WPM roadmap?
