Web JetAdmin discovery connection

Hi Tom, Are you only thinking about this or have you attempted already to create DB connection? From the little I know about Web JetAdmin both options of table connection or alternatively exporting and importing into WHD should be possible. I'd be interested to know if you have running connection.

At this time as I had no one post any stories or assistance as to what worked/did not work for them I dove in.

First off the default database contained in HP Web JetAdmin 10.3 SR 4 (this is the latest version at this time) is a SQL 2005 Express instance. I so far have created a local user and have given it db_datareader rights, set up the tcp/ip to allow it connect and the DB connection does connect with the green dot but now I have a schema selection and no matter what I choose I am not able to get the table or view drop down to populate. There are tables and views in the DB if I go in to the SQL management studio.

I do not quite understand what the schema dropdown does as choosing an option and clicking save or clicking the refresh circle does not yield any changes. I get the following error:

Changes have been saved.

Table or View is required.

Can you shed any light on this?

So I have an update on this. The Tables only populate if I choose the "blank" line in the database views and you get an error on save saying Schema is required.

I have opened a ticket 546746 for assistance on this. They started by collecting the basic info and asking for screenshots which I have provided.

I would try to have all views in DBO schema (I believe it is by default on MS DB). Could you please try this if it helps?

I am not quite sure what you mean by all views. My SQL skills are just enough to be dangerous.

Views and Tables which you need scan by asset discovery connection. Are those in DBO schema?

I saw pictures about this issue. Could you try to set schema for tables and views to dbo?

before you start modify DB, please consider to backup.

There is some progress on this. Support got it working the only issue I have now is to figure out how to not sync the non hp printers that get picked up. I will post some screenshots when I finish.
