I am getting ready to deploy VoIP module and am auditing my switches and routers for code and memory needs to be able to run IP SLA. Where should you run IP SLA? I figure on you border routers and core switches as a minimum. If you have a branch should you also enable it on the workgroup (user) switches? If so I need to order a bunch of memory upgrades.
Hi pguenther,
IP SLA should be deployed on your WAN.

So just to clarify - I should only enable IP SLA on my border routers? I have a large site (400+users) that has multiple border routers, a core switch and user stacks. If I enable IP SLA on the voice routers I should be ok? Then I would enable it on the border routers at the location where the phone system sits?
Yes - apply it to routers connecting any VoIP sites and according to your topology - hub/spoke or full mesh.
