Increase retention of CDR records to 6 months or more

I know of a version 2020.2 installation of NPM, NTA, NCM, SAM, and VNQM that fits into the large sizing category. There is talk of going to a retention period of 6 months or possibly longer for the CDR that VNQM queries. My question is simple.... what would be the impact on the SolarWinds environment of doing that? Would system performance be affected? Thank you for any thoughts.
