As of today, the default polling intervals for VM performance stats is every 10 minutes and every 12 hours for configuration related statistics. Such behaviour already exists in other areas of Orion (NPM/SAM/etc) where a monitored object's polling interval can be adjusted and override the global defaults.
There is no known way to customise those intervals using the UI and there are cases where polling intervals need adjustment:
1. Very large environments where the statistics job takes ~5mins and is hammering the vCenter
2. Critical VMs where more aggressive polling is required (e.g. every minute)
3. VM configuration polling every 12 hours is causing related alerts to stay active for longer periods of time until they reset which is causing false positives and admin overhead.
Ideally, it would be ideal if one could adjust the polling intervals per vCenter/Datacenter/Cluster/Host/VM as well as set a global value.
