Change default SSH admin account (VMAN 5.1.1.10000)

Jump to solution

I'm having trouble finding documentation on how to change the default SSH admin account. I'd like to have the SSH terminal allow the same credentials as the users of the web interface (which are currently authenticating against Active Directory) and disable the built-in admin account.

If this is not possible, how can I at least change the default admin password from "admin" to something secure?

Thanks for your help,

jja

Hello!

You can definitely change the default credentials. Simply ssh into the appliance & use the "passwd" utility to change the password.

passwd.png

UNIX man pages : passwd ()

You can also add a new user account using the "useradd" utility.

Thanks for your help serena! I'd love to see these SSH credentials integrated with the web console creds in the future, but this solution will meet the minimum requirements for now.
