Does the "Latest Hostname" expire?

I have a port that used to have a device with a DNS record connected. A while back it was replaced with an IoT device that does not have a DNS entry. Unfortunately, the old hostname is still listed on the port even though that hostname no longer exists. Is there a way to clear this old hostname out? Is there a way to make sure that no hostname is listed in situations like this?
