How many of you are running a QA Environment?
We are currently evaluating replacing our aged hardware in our QA environment vs leveraging production hardware with an SDN implementation for segmentation. The general idea is to test applications in a similar hardware/network infrastructure as the production environment. We refreshed the production hardware last year and are looking to do the same to our QA environment to keep it a one for one. The cost is staggering. We are thinking SDN with micro-segmentation will be our best best. We can stand up a one for one environment with complete segmentation.
Which method do you currently use? Full hardware one for one, QA in a cloud deployment, SDN, other?
If you had a chance to redo it, what approach would you take and why?
