The other day I was writing an SQL Query that required me to access data in an SQL table. Having access to the ${ApplicationID} variable would have helped tremendously. I posed the question in Application Custom Property inside SQL Component Monitor and aLTeReGo responded that they are not currently available for SQL Queries recommending I submit this idea.
I was able to work my way around the need but it did get me to thinking that it would also be nice to have the ability to use other default variables and even Application Custom Properties within SQL Queries.
So my feature request would be for SolarWinds to add the ability of using variables in SQL Component Monitors.
Realizing that not all Component Monitor types would benefit from access to the variables, does anyone else have similar requests for other, non-SQL monitors where variables are not available already but would be helpful?
