It appears the Software Inventory for Linux systems is filter out installed packages based on hrSWInstalledType. This really should include all items installed, regardless of the enumerated install type. So far, I definitely know that this feature filters out the operatingSystem(2) hrSWInstalledType.
Failing that, then give us the ability to customize the filter.
