Alert Action - REST/HTTP with custom user defined Headers

Alert Action - REST/HTTP with custom user defined Headers

Re: HTTP Headers in Alert Actions - POST/Get URL

Please consider implementation of a true system to perform REST/HTTP calls.  This should include HTTP Header manipulation, as many RESTful systems require attributes set in the header to return proper data, and to even login with authentication tokens.  THe workaround of calling a script locally isn't ideal.

Silo'ed systems becoming obsolete. The ability to integrate with other APIs, systems and applications is a must.

"THe workaround of calling a script locally isn't ideal." 100 percent agree.  Up Voting This.

Our environment does not reside in a DMZ and we will not give Basic Auth Access to third Parties even if it did. We are pushing POST messages to a webhook but discovered we can not specify an authentication method so the webhook server had to be locked down to only allow post messages from a limited IP range for our servers. This only works because we control the webhook, but for Posting to outside third parties, This will no longer suffice and we have to be able to specify, OAuth, Token, Basic, some kind of authentication method. Customers cant just leave webhooks open to accept all pushes.

Bumping this. This would provide very useful for targetting other API's that we'd like to integrate SolarWinds alerts with.

BTW, this is currently in the works and serena is gladly taking feedback!
