Several JMX components would be more useful for application monitoring, alerting and performance management if they were not presented as cumulative counts or durations. Request that these metrics be presented as rates or duration per collection interval. Examples are Garbage Collection count and Garbage Collection time. Presentation of these metrics to show current / recent activity would be of greater value than knowledge of statistics from the start of the JVM.
