How to lock user into a client?

You can do this by setting the following limits to "No" for:

• "HTTP" | "Allow users to use Web Client" (User/Group/Domain/Server levels)
• "HTTP" | "Allow users to use Web Client Pro" (User/Group/Domain/Server levels)
• "HTTP" | "Allow users to use FTP Voyager JV" (User/Group/Domain/Server levels)
• "File Sharing" | "Allow file sharing" (User/Group level)

Note:  There is a Release Candidate for Serv-U 15.1, which has the complete feature list above.  You can download it from the customer portal in the Release Candidate section.

There is the ability to turn on/off access to the web client, file sharing and/or the FTP Voyager client.  You can do this in the "User Properties" dialog under the "Limits & Settings" tab for the specific user.  The settings for both the Web Client and FTP Voyager JV are found under the "HTTP" option in the "Limit Type" drop down.  The same can be done for File Sharing by selecting it in the "Limit Type" drop down.

I am not seeing two of the options suggested and that is the HTTP | Allow users to use Web Client, and the Limit for FileSharing doesn’t seem to be available, even though I have File sharing enabled.

I am using 64bit MFT Server Version 15.0.1.20, in case that matters.   Edited to Note - I do see you mention a release candidate 15.1 which has all the options.  Thank you again.

I believe those additional options should be available to you using the current Serv-U release candidate which can be downloaded in the customer portal here: https://customerportal.solarwinds.com/

Thanks jon.voss.  I don't see that in my customer portal, so perhaps you had to sign up for beta or something.  Guess I will have to wait until it is a final release.  I sure appreciate all your help.

You can find it on home page of your customer portal in LATEST DOWNLOADS FOR YOUR PRODUCTS section. Change filter to "Release Candidate" and there it is.
