Our company is currently considering to add SRM to our current Solarwinds stack but couldn't really find a definitive answer to how Latency is defined in SRM.
Can SRM only measure the Latency of the LUNS on the storage array and not the response time? Any clarity on this would be really appreciated.
Response time is something we can measure for applications via "time to first byte" with the Quality of Experience (deep packet inspection): https://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/SummaryView.aspx?ViewKey=DPI%20Summary
For storage performance this is what can usually be seen: https://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/SRM/SrmDetachResource.aspx?ResourceID=1544&NetObject=SML:748
Or take a look at the Perfstack feature. In this example you can expand the LUN and pick from 31 metrics when you click on the arrow symbol and then on the LUN: https://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/ui/perfstack/?context=0_Orion.SRM.LUNs_748&withRelationships=true&p...
