Hello!
We've got an application that processes faxes that writes a particular type of file, ipk, to a specific directory:\program files\programname\doctransport. The problem that we are coming up against is that once we've got a queue of over about 50k ipk files, the program chokes.
The administrator of the application is working with the vendor to get a solution in place, but in the meantime, I'd like to set up an alert that counts the number of ipk files in the directory and alerts/emails when the number is >40k<50k.
I've taken a look at the file analysis http://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/solarwinds-community/product-blog/blog/2011/03/16/rule-your-files (which only happens once a night) and aside from it not being a realtime monitor, it is also apparently limited to a maximum count of 5k files in a directory.
Does anyone have a solution/suggestion?
