please move away from flash!

I'd really like to see LEM move away from the flash interface into something far more flexible and customizable. This also leads to my next

'want' by being able to review LEM content from iOS or other mobile devices. This really would improve the product in so many ways.

So, what do you mean by flexible and customizable? Moving away from Flash is something that may or may not actually give us more flexibility - if you look at some parts of Orion, they aren't as customizable as parts of LEM within Flash.

Touché Nicole! Customizable in that I would like to be able to move columns and other areas of the screen around more easily, to do more customization all together on the interface, to access LEM from a mobile device, which is my #1 right now! I can access Kiwi Syslog from my iPhone but not LEM?!!

I'D like to be able to copy and paste from with a right click, from the monitor tab, choose which columns that I want to see in the main portion, to hide certain columns all together.

Thanks for responding to my post at least!

That helps. Some of this we might be able to fix within Flash, though obviously not the mobile issue With LEM, we tried to make it so that everything was click-accessible or menu-accessible without right clicks (since right clicks in the browser do that annoying "show the flash menu first" nonsense) but I think some stuff is really imperfect and we could fix some of those things (LOOKING AT YOU COPY/PASTE, the bane of my existence, even with CTRL+C) before moving off of Flash. Obviously, the reality is that Flash is dead, so it's really just a matter of time before you see our products move away. (Could be a long time... so don't hold your breath just yet.)

Do you use Mobile Admin or just access the HTML consoles for stuff you want within your browser?

Alert Central uses HTML5, which works on most platforms, and we've tried to design the interface for that with touching (not just pointing/hovering) in mind. That's another approach to the native mobile app.

I do not use mobile admin, I just use the html gui. If I could get LEM viewable on my mobile, it would help us out a lot (us being my staff). No worries though, I'm still in love with LEM. Again, that you for reading me!

Just by coincidence IE has a bug related to flash (zero-day). If it was me I would get away from flash and Java.

*** I know Java is used in the agent but this request only talks about flash.

You have my vote on getting away from flash

I usually groan when I encounter interfaces based on Flash and Java, because they are both a) slow, especially in a VM environment; b) bloated, eating up memory like there's no tomorrow, and c) susceptible to a new vulnerability every 32.5 seconds.

I know our dreams are going far afield here, but 'flexible' to me would include seamless modularity of LEM into NPM as with components of the NPM platform.

Perhaps a converged goal would be complete conversion of LEM *and* NPM into HTML5......sounds easy, right?

Echoing others, though - Flash or no, LEM is good stuff - and usable.

I agree, while LEM is a great product, I do find the interface sluggish such as re-arranging widgets on the dashboard.

I happen to know that one of LEM's larger competitors uses HTML5 for their product... <hint hint>

Totally agree flash is a huge risk and just a pain in the butt!!!!!
