I have a large number of nodes that I am dealing with, and while Grouping them certainly helps, some things could be streamlined by creating description field on the node, in the node manager. This way, I can have my GROUP of, let's say "Cash Register Machines" while labeling them inside the LEM individually, as needed, in a description field, such as "John's Cash Register." This can save a lot of time when viewing logs, to avoid having to go pull an active directory description on the machine in question, especially as those are handled by another part of our IT department, and not always filled in/accurate. It would also add a lot for troubleshooting nodes that are down. For example, if DesktopXXXX is showing a disconnected node that hasn't received an event in 3 days, I could easily make a note that says "User on vacation, Desktop Shutdown" or "John is working on this node" instead of each team member jumping through the same hoops as they come on shift.Next, there are some items that we collect log from via IP address, and do not manage to put an alias into DNS for it. We could quickly make a note to identify what this device is, inside the lem, without impacting any other systems. This field could also be used for listing responsible parties/contacts for problem machines, again saving a lookup from having to happen in another system.
