Solarwinds SEM Use Cases

Hello,

I hope this message finds someone that can respond. 

Does Solarwinds have Use Cases and rules that their customers can use for their environment? 

Other vendors has use cases and supporting their customers but I am not sure if Solarwinds helps that customers that are new in using the tool.

SEM has a lot of predefined Rules in place that "just" need to be activated. Some of them require a tiny adjustment to be correctly executing in your environment. For more information, please navigate here https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/SEM/Content/Admin_Guide/New_in_6_7/SEM-Create.... The rules have a tag to highlight in which Security domain they fit. In the admin guide, you can find tutorials how to protect your environment against the port scanning and other situations.
