Do rules send to mail-enabled AD groups?

I was able to successfully add an AD group as a DS group in LEM, and can see all the individuals assigned to the group.

I have a rule that successfully fires & notifies me, but it does not notify the members of that group.

Are groups not mail enabled?

From my understanding, in order to send an email to an address, that address has to be added as a contact under the "Build-Users" menu. It will not send to a group unless the group is a distribution group with an email address listed in the LEM users.

I had configured the group as a guest. After changing it to a contact, I reactivated & enabled the rule, but have yet to receive any notifications to the group address. Any thoughts on that?

So after playing around a bit, I understand your issue. I don't think that directory service groups in LEM support mail as there are no email addresses directly associated in LEM. However, if this is a distribution group, or if you can create a distribution group, you can create a workaround by creating a user as a contact rather than adding a DS group. Then add the address of the distribution group as the contact address for the user.

Great idea! I added a LEM user for myself and email test work; but one added for the group didn't. The LEM logs show it working (sent) but nothing shows in the mailboxes of the users in the group. I will follow up with my Exchange guru in the morning, but I think you put me on the right track...thanks!

Evidently the group was set to require sender authentication; it's working now! Many thanks for the tip.
