Configuring LDAP fails, error "Connection Lost"

Very frustrating for a new installation. Working on a new install and having trouble configuring SSO/LDAP connection. Completing all the fields results in "Connection Lost" error immediately after hitting the Save button. DC is on Server 2019, functional level 2012 if that makes any difference. Sample attached.
