Windows Hardware Inventory

This file contains the APM template and the report template. You need to import the template to your APM and copy the report template to the report folder on your Orion server.

The APM template is to capture hardware information on Windows system through WMI. It may not capture everything but I feel that's sufficient.

After you import it, you simply need to assign it to your nodes and configure the windows credential to it.

Just in case you dont know, your Windows system does NOT require to run SNMP to make it work with WMI. The template can be assigned to ICMP/SNMP nodes.

Would anyone have NPM and NCM Combined hardare/software report?

Hey aLTeReGo,
With this new inventory feature when we decommission and delete a node. Will we have an option to store the inventory detail in SolarWinds so that it is still searchable? Can we mark the node as decommissioned?

Before (or after) decommissioning the device you can unmanage the node essentially indefinitely, which will retain the Asset Inventory data collected for reporting purposes.
